Licence Controller Qualification
This one day training covers two Unit Standards: 4646 – Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 and its implications for licensed premises, and 16705 – Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises. If you wish to apply for or renew a Manager Certificate, you must have the Licence Controller Qualification.
The training involves a classroom based delivery of the Sale of Liquor Act and Host Responsibility followed with a closed book exam. Students must have a good level of reading and writing in English.

Visiting our New Lynn office
Visit our office with payment of $230 and collect the materials in person. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or internet banking as we do not have EFTPOS facilities.
Enrolling online
Complete the online enrolment form and select a suitable day and venue for you to attend training. You will receive an email confirming your enrolment. An invoice for $240 (includes postage of materials) will also be emailed to you within two working days. Organise payment by direct credit/internet banking using your invoice number as our reference and send us confirmation of payment via email. We will then post the materials to you. Allow 2-3 working days for postage.
Complete the homework assignment and bring this for marking on the day of training. If your homework is incomplete, you may be asked to attend the training another day, to give you more time to finish the homework assignment. Use the practice exam to study for the closed book exam on the day of training. We will also send a text to the mobile number you provide with the course details (day, venue, time) a couple of days before your training. Bring all your course materials on the day.
When you have passed the course, we will give you a pass letter and apply to the Hospitality Standards Institute (HSI) for the Licence Controller Qualification for you. The LCQ can take up to 15 working days to process.
